Street Gown, 1896

From Marshall Field and Co.'s "Coming Styles Designed by the Great Costumers of Europe."

Fawn-shot poplinette principally constitutes this gown. The bodice, of white silk brocaded with mauve and yellow flowers, hooks invisibly in front under the folds, and is finished at the waist by a wide band of white grass-lawn embroidered with coloerd flowers and gold thread and spangles. A yoke-like collar of poplinette falls over the bodice in front and back, and epaulettes of the same goods adorn the shoulders. Collar and epaulettes are trimmed with small paste buttons.
