Suet - 1 pound
Curd soap - 1/2 pound
Ivory black - "A sufficient quantity."
Have no fear of hurting elephants by trying out this one -- "ivory black" is another name for bone char, also called bone black or animal charcoal. Bone char is used as a black pigment for artist's paint, printmaking, calligraphic and drawing inks as well as other artistic applications because of its deepness. It is made from burnt bones, which (these days) do not include ivory.
While the text which gave this recipe didn't trouble to include instructions on what is done after the mixture is combined, I would expect the user is meant to roll the resulting paste into little sticks for use.
