Pompadours, II

A photo of me with one of my larger pompadours... as usual, it is made by inserting a rat underneath the natural hair, which is then combed over.

Something to remember about Victorian/Edwardian pompadours is that they ought not be placed too high on the head. The ends should come down to about ear level or a little lower... I see many, otherwise alright, instructions for making these period hairdos wind up with a mushroom effect because they place the ends of the pompadour too high on the scalp.
