Fashion Trend: Lace

Sex appeal, femininity, elegance … all in one!

The most usual are  black or white lace, which are classic and always look beautiful. Some  decided to play with the colors so red, royal blue, yellow, purple and a wonderful nude lace hit the runways too.

True romance! Stylish stars from Nina Dobrev to Emma Watson have fallen for the                                                                                       delicate fabric.

How to wear lace:
  1. Wear it with minimum jewelery. If you choose wearing lace wear it with stud earrings, or a gold bangle.

2. Black lace stockings are hot with skirts in winter, but don’t ever wear them with a denim skirt.  Black stockings will always go best with a black skirt. If your wear black stockings with a  black skirt, go for a different coloured top.

3. If a clothing item is made completely of lace, wear it down with simple clothing. Plain, bold colours are good, all colours go with black or brown. It’s not really a good look to wear lace with clothing that is patterned or printed.

4. A garment with minimal lace, and particularly white lace, goes great with denim.

A bit of History…
The craft of lace making was initiated in the 1400’s. By the mid 1500’s, lace making was established and became common in households in the form of regular clothing and linen. Royal and rich people began including lace stitched of gold, silver and silk thread, to their fine and expensive clothing, when it became popular around the mid 1500’s, and remained very popular up until the 1800’s. Although, lace has remained common and fairly popular ever since.
